Run your whole POS from one Android phone: the setup, step by step.
For events, food stalls, takeaway counters and small cafes: one Android phone takes the orders, prints KOTs and GST bills on a thermal printer, and keeps the cash box. Follow the nine steps below from signup to your first bill. Every screenshot is the Android app itself.

EasyKOT on Android. In this video, we will follow the complete process on the phone. After installing the app, this is the first screen you see. There are three options.
The first option is Run the counter. Choose this if you are the owner, manager or cashier and want to run the whole point of sale on your Android phone. You can take orders on the phone. The setup will let you connect a printer.
Once it is connected, you can print kitchen tickets and bills directly from this phone. The second option is take orders at the tables. Suppose your register app is running on a laptop at the restaurant's billing counter. Your waiters or captains walk to the tables and take orders on their phones.
Suppose orders and kitchen tickets go to the billing counter. The printer connected to the counter handles the printing. The captain does not need a separate printer in this setup. Orders are taken at the tables while the main printer stays at the billing counter.
This is the second option. The third option is for a different setup. For example, at an event, function or wedding, there may be several food counters. Carrying a laptop to every counter may not be convenient.
Several waiters or captains may be moving around and taking orders. With this option, you can give each person their own printer. They take orders on their phone and print their own kitchen tickets and bills on their own printer. With the second option, printing went to one main printer at the billing counter.
With this third option, each person uses their own printer. That is how you can have several people, each with a separate printer. For this walkthrough, we will use the first option. Tap Run the counter.
Use the same email and password that you created when signing up in the admin panel. Enter those credentials here, then tap sign in. If you have forgotten your password, use Forgot your password? to reset it.
This recording uses a test account to demonstrate the process. The phone is now connected and the menu has loaded. The next screen takes us to printer setup. We are using a Seznik thermal printer here.
First, open the phone's Bluetooth settings and pair the printer. This phone already has it paired. If yours is not paired yet, select the printer and complete the pairing request. The list shows the paired devices.
Once the printer is paired, tap done and return to the app. Now tap Add printer. There are several ways to connect a printer. Along with Bluetooth, you can connect a network printer by its IP address, whether it is on Wi-Fi or LAN.
We are using Bluetooth in this walkthrough. A Bluetooth printer must first be paired in Android settings. You can then choose it from the list of paired devices in the app. Select the Seznik printer.
Choose everything for both kitchen tickets and bills. Then select the paper size. This printer uses 58 mm paper. Save the printer settings.
Now tap Test print. A test slip should come out of the printer. Watch the actual printer footage alongside the screen. The test slip has printed.
This confirms the connection and the print on paper. Next, choose print from this phone. We want this phone to print directly rather than send the printing to a separate billing counter. The order screen now opens.
Running orders appear here. There are none yet in this recording. Use Choose table to select a table. You can see tables such as T1 and T2.
Tables are set up through the admin panel and register app. If your setup uses takeaway instead of tables, you can choose the takeaway option. Tap takeaway to open the full menu. Add the dishes you want, where half and full options are available.
Choose the portion you need. After adding the dishes, open Review order. The top shows that this is a takeaway order. You can use Assign table if you want to put it on a table.
Check the dishes and quantities here. Add a note if needed such as a request about spice. Now tap Send KOT, the order is sent for the kitchen. In this setup, the kitchen ticket prints on the printer connected to this phone.
Watch the actual ticket come out. If the customer wants something else later, tap + Add items. Here we add butter garlic naan and return to Review order. The first four dishes are already under Sent to kitchen.
The new dish is under to send. Tap Send KOT again. This time only the new dish prints. The four items sent earlier are not printed again, so the kitchen does not receive a duplicate order.
When the order is complete, open settle. There are cash and UPI options for recording payment. Collect the payment from the customer first. You can also enter the customer's name and phone number if you want those details on the bill.
Here we enter the name and then the phone number. These customer details are optional. We choose UPI to record the payment. The bill now comes out of the printer.
It includes the complete order, the customer details and the total. You can configure GST and other billing settings in the admin panel. Those settings will be covered in a separate video. That is the complete process for taking orders, printing kitchen tickets and making the final bill with EasyKOT on your Android phone.
On a phone this plays as a vertical video; on a laptop it opens the YouTube player.

On the Android app, choose Run the counter.
On Sign in as the owner, use the same email and password as the EasyKOT owner dashboard.
Select Sign in. This connects the owner's phone without a setup QR or staff PIN.
Wait while the phone connects, downloads the Konkan Kitchen menu and tables, and opens the counter.
On Add your printer, choose Not now — I will add one later.
The Running tab now shows Konkan Kitchen’s orders. This phone is signed in as the owner.
In the Device tab, verify the connected store and the owner's signed-in identity.
You can add or change printers later from the Device tab.
Short video: connect the owner's phone to the restaurant in Run the counter mode.
One phone, one printer, a little internet.
- An Android phone on Android 8 or newer. This phone becomes the counter. The iPhone app is not in the App Store yet, so this setup is Android only for now.
- One thermal printer. 58mm or 80mm, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, speaking ESC/POS. A phone cannot drive a USB printer.
- Internet for the setup. For the signup and the first sign-in. After that, billing works without it.
- A charger or a power bank. The whole event runs on one phone, so plan its battery before you start.
Signup to the first bill: nine steps, every screen shown.
Create your restaurant on the dashboard
Restaurants are created at app.easykot.com, not inside the app. Open the Start your free trial form, fill in your name, restaurant name, email, mobile number and password, and press Start my free trial. The form works in the phone's browser too. Add the menu next, from Get started: photos or PDFs of your menu, a spreadsheet, or the sample menu to practise with. Before the first real bill, put your GSTIN and business details in Settings, because the bill prints what Settings holds.
The menu in detail: menu setup and AI import.
Install EasyKOT on the phone
Install EasyKOT Captain from Google Play on an Android 8 or newer phone. Already installed? On Get started, open Get the EasyKOT app and choose “Already have the Android app? Use this phone”. On the connect card, “I’m using the Android app” opens the same phone path. Choose your PIN becomes optional for Android owner sign-in. No laptop or setup code is needed. The screenshots here preserve Captain 0.2.12 from the earlier Play test; the current app has the same three cards on its first screen.
Tap Run the counter
The first screen asks “What will this phone do?”. Tap Run the counter. This is the phone that makes the bills, with its own GST invoice series. Take orders at the tables is for a waiter's phone, and Take orders and print them is for a captain who carries a small printer of their own; neither one runs the shop. Picked the wrong card? “Start over — reset this phone” on the Device tab brings this screen back.

Sign in as the owner
Type the email and password you used on app.easykot.com and press Sign in. This needs internet once. The phone then shows Setting up this phone while it connects, downloads your menu and opens the counter. It happens once: after that the phone opens straight to the counter, online or not.

Add your printer and print a test slip
Next comes “Add your printer”. Tap Add printer and pick how it connects: a Bluetooth printer that is already paired, a Wi-Fi or LAN printer by its IP address, or a search of your Wi-Fi. Pair a Bluetooth printer once in Android's own Bluetooth settings first; EasyKOT asks for the Nearby devices permission to see it. A Wi-Fi printer takes its IP address and port 9100. Under Prints choose Everything, under Paper choose the width of your roll, 58mm or 80mm, and save the printer. Run the “Test print”: the phone says the slip was sent, and the printer gives you a test slip with a row of 32 digits on 58mm paper. If the row is cut off, change the width and test again. Then press “Print from this phone”.
Every Bluetooth screen, step by step: pair a Bluetooth printer with an Android phone.

Open the cash box
Open the Device tab. Under Cash box, type the cash you are putting in the box to start the day, in rupees, and press Start cash shift. The owner is not asked for a PIN here; a captain who opens the box is asked for a manager's.
Take the first order and send the KOT
Go to the Free tab. Tap “+ Takeaway” for a parcel order. If you added tables in Dashboard → Tables & floors or the Desktop App, tap a free table instead. Tap + Add on a dish, or the + beside Half or Full on a dish with portions, then press Review order, add a Note for the kitchen if it needs one, and press “Send KOT”. The KOT prints on this phone's printer straight away with its KOT number and the order number on top. The pictures below follow one real order, T63-001 for table T12 in our test store; a takeaway KOT says TAKEAWAY where this one names the table.

Print the bill, then mark cash or UPI
On the order, press Settle. The sheet shows the subtotal, a box for a discount, and the total. Press “Print bill”: the phone tells you which bill number it printed, and the bill comes out with the invoice number, the date, the order number and every dish. Then press Cash or UPI. That only records how the guest paid: no drawer opens and no card is read. Check a UPI payment in your UPI app before you mark it. The bill below is the same order T63-001 as the KOT above.

Count the box and close the shift
At the end of the event, open the Device tab again. In the updated Cash box, cash sales and expected cash stay hidden until closing. Press “Count & close shift”, count all notes and coins including the float, and enter that actual amount. After Close shift, the phone shows the breakdown, expected cash, counted cash and variance.
Need tables? Add them in the dashboard too.
- Open the owner dashboard in your phone’s browser. Use Tables & floors to add tables, choose their name, floor, seats and shape, and arrange the layout. Connected phones receive the tables when they sync.
- For an event, a stall or a parcel counter, that is the right setup: every order is a takeaway and the bill prints on the spot.
- You can also arrange tables in the Desktop App under Settings → Tables & floors. The steps: set up tables and the floor plan.
Keep the phone going through the rush.
- Leave the notification alone. The EasyKOT is the printer notification means printing is running. Do not swipe it away. On the Device tab, Open battery settings lets EasyKOT skip battery optimisation, or the phone may doze with the screen off.
- No internet, sales go on. Orders, KOTs, bills and the cash box are saved on the phone itself, and reach the dashboard when the internet comes back.
- Look after the printer too. Charge it fully and carry a spare paper roll. If the paper runs out the sale is not lost: the ticket waits on the phone and prints again from the Device tab.
- A whole trading day on the phone, and where it stops: run a POS without a laptop.
